Maria Verchenova: Spicing Up The Fairways

Maria Verchenova is a Russian Professional Golfer playing on the Ladies European Tour. Her striking looks and strong fashion sense make her an immediate attraction no matter how she is playing.

Born on March 27th 1986, she is the eldest daughter of Virtaly and Galina Verchenova. Her younger sister is named Anna. With dark brown hair and eyes she is also 176cm tall. A former ballet dancer, she studied the art for 10 years between 1992 and 2002. She took up the game at age 12 during a family vacation in the Czech Republic. Despite the lack of golfing facilities in Russia, she overcame with the help of her father. She found success early and had many amateur victories. She turned professionl at the end of 2006. Her rookie year on the Ladies European Tour was solid, and she registered a top ten at the tournament in Wales. She is yet to find the winners
